What I eat on Thursday, lock down edition.

Hey Thursday,
Here I am In my ' what I eat on Thursday, lock down edition'. In short I have fast in Thursdays, where I do not consume salt and avoid milk and milk products. And for this Thursday I made some jaggery biscuits along with Bengal gram halwa and pineapple juice.

 For Juice

Yesterday my mother brought one pineapple from our garden. So I made myself Juice from it. I extracted juice from pine apple and blended some mint leaves in it. Added some mishri water (which I had melted earlier in water), black pepper and have it. But for my mother, because she is not fasting, so I added some lemon juice, rock salt in it.

For jaggery biscuit

For biscuits I melted a spoonful of ghee in a heated pan then add jaggery in to it. Stir them well and occasionally so they do not burn at the bottom. Slowly they starts changing color and texture. Then I added some coarsely grind peanuts, and sesame seeds in it and turn of the flame. I transfer them in to slab sprinkling some sesame seeds/ghee and roll them to flat and cut in desired shape when they cool down a little bit.

For Bengal gram halwa
Actually this was the first time I made halwa of anything else than sooji/semolina flour. For this purpose I had soaked a cup of dry Bengal gram in morning. I grind soaked gram in the mixture into the fine paste without water. After that heat a pan and melted some ghee in it. Then cook the paste in it. I stir them well so to remove any lumps. I have to cook them for almost half an hour( I was so focused in making it, I didn't even noticed time😝) for it to change color and leave ghee slowly. Then I added some jaggery(sugar is not allowedπŸ˜‚) to it for sweetness. And turn off the flame and its ready to be served when cool down a bit with your favorite dry fruits.

Then with some mango slices, cucumber, pineapple cubes, jaggery biscuits, halwa and juices I complete my Thursday meal plate.
Until next time
Stay healthy. Be safe.
