What I eat on Thursday. Lock down edition π
So, for Thursdays I do not consume salt mainly. Apart from that I try to avoid milk and milk products except from ghee. I take some fruits, drinks and prefer one meal in a day. I do not believe in fasting all day hungry avoiding your own health so, I try to stay hydrated and healthy all day. I was advised to eat Satvic diet as in pure, essential, natural, vital, energy-containing foods. So I try to plan food diet accordingly.
I drink water often in a day so that my body gets comfortable with the changes. Then normally I eat seasonal fruits that I have/are available. Then I myself prepare the meal that I am going to take. With this lock down going on my food plan has gone upside down. I am left with so little options.Nowadays we are mostly using fruits and vegetables from our own garden. And outside expenses and consumption of external products are minimized.
For today, I made some roasted Makhanas and sweet stuffed bread/roti's. Makhanas are my favorite, only after being roasted thoughπ. I roast them in some ghee in medium high flame. When they become hard and starts changing color I turn of the heat. After cooling them for minutes become crunchy and tasty ready to eat.
And for Stuffed roti I made normal soft roti dough with wheat flour and keep them aside. Then roasted some dry fruits(dried dates, peanuts, dry coconuts were available in home) in heated pan. I keep them aside and roasted some semolina in ghee. Added earlier roasted dry fruits to it. Some jaggery and turn off the flame. Then grind them coarsely in a mixture and add some sugar syrup to make smooth dough of it. Then make small balls out of it and stuffed them in roti dough made earlier. Roll them like paratha/roti and cook by flipping to both sides respectively. Now they are ready to be served.
Along with those I have a glass of kaada's. My mother makes them for me. She says they eases pain of hunger and helps body absorbs protein. She fries some cinnamon powder, mishris/rock candy, and let them caramelize. When they starts melting and changing color then pour water and let them cook and boil. They would be very hot so we have to let it cool down for sometimes. You too have them in your fasting days, it would be beneficial.π
Till next time. Stay safe. Be healthy.
